the first show i’ve been to in a few months will be pelican at the launchpad tonight. i’ve seen them a few times already– the first time was actually at this tiny theater venue on 1st street in albuquerque called “the cell”. they had played earlier at the launchpad but i missed it because i was working. i got a call that they’d be playing at this little venue i’d never been to before and so i drove down to see them play. there were a bunch of retarded highschool kids there to see their friends’ bands and not the band with tremendous talent from chicago. it was pretty lame hearing 15 year old girls tell the guys in pelican that they don’t dance around stage enough. at any rate, a venue the size of someone’s living room + pelican = awesome.
(also, it goes without saying that the best venue in albuquerque is the launchpad)
