good stuff. got 40 minutes of runtime of my dual cpu fileserver on battery power before it shut itself down. nice to see this stuff working like it should be.
power (obviously) went out at 22:00 today. kind of shitty because i looked forward to playing some Starsiege: Tribes with Phil for a bit. He had only been online for an hour and the power cut out. At least the UPS for the home theater stuff was capable of running my XM Radio + boom box thing for 2 hours (Ron & Fez replay for the win!) before we decided to get the fuck out of here for a bit and drive around in air conditioning. It got pretty damned hot in here.
woot! time off, bitches!
i decided to take 2 days off this week since i don’t have enough time accrued to go with cadie to visit kira in FL.
i plan on:
1. assembling my new desk (should be here tuesday)
2. fixing the annoying fans in my fileserver
3. drinking beer
4. playing video games
(repeat #s 3 and 4 a few times)
it will be awesome. i haven’t had any time off other than my “weekends” since december of ’07.
ushare didn’t work out. doh.
so ushare didn’t work out. i forgot how much of my music collection is in formats that the PS3 isn’t capable of playing. so i went on a search for a upnp server that supports transcoding *.flac and *.ogg files. i decided on using fuppes, which i compiled from source. unfortunately, the transcoding doesn’t always work. sometimes playback will start and other times, it won’t and the PS3 will throw a network error message. i just can’t win.
