warhawk sadness
lately, i’d been playing a ton of warhawk on ps3. unfortunately, for whatever reason, it’s started having networking issues. the game worked flawlessly with my current network setup for months and now, it often freezes at the 28-25 second mark between maps. at first, i thought this was a upnp issue because it seemed to me that pfsense wasn’t opening the ports the ps3 needed. now, it seems more like the ps3 isn’t requesting ports from miniupnpd. i haven’t seen the firewall blocking traffic from the servers or anything, so i’m totally at a loss.
in more positive news, i replaced the hard disk in the ps3 (this was rumored to fix warhawk freezes) with a 320GB Fujitsu 7200rpm SATA disk. these 2.5″ disks have gotten way cheaper.

i had part of my dental work completed yesterday ($820.20 worth)
it took around three hours and left me feeling as though i’d been punched repeatedly in the face. luckily, it’s feeling better today. less face-punchiness. i’ve noticed that i have to be much more careful when chewing on the unaffected side so that i don’t put any stress on the affected side..since it makes me feel like my jaw is going to explode.
also, i now remember why i hate UPS. i had a package scheduled for delivery today. i know it’s holiday season and there can be delays or whatever, that’s fine. what’s not fine is when the courier doesn’t even bother to attempt to deliver the package and reports to ups’ computer that he/she has. i tried calling their customer service to ensure that it would indeed be delivered tomorrow (the second attempt, according to them) and the woman essentially called me a liar when i told her that no info notice was left on our door or with our apartment complex’s management office and that near as i could tell, there was no delivery attempt. ugh.

booooo, teeth
so, i haven’t had dental insurance for 6 years. i qualified in july and decided i’d wait til january because i DESPISE going to the dentist. well, it seems i might have an issue with one of my teeth (doh). despite my diligent care, my teeth are starting to suck. so tomorrow, i’ll be going to the dentist for the first time in six years and i can’t WAIT to find out what horrors await me and my wallet for the next few months. wish me luck.
