i suck
there’s been a ton of nothing going on lately. the most exciting thing going on is that my schedule at work is switching to 4 x 10hr shifts, which is awesome since i’ll have 3 days off each week.
i’m ridiculously excited about going to north carolina in december. i haven’t really felt like traveling much lately, but i’m stoked about this particular trip even though it’s still 4 months out.
i finally got around to patching up FSX on my computer, so i plan on doing some extra flight-simming stuff in the near future. FSX along with X-Plane 9.4 = mad awesome.
booooo, teeth
so, i haven’t had dental insurance for 6 years. i qualified in july and decided i’d wait til january because i DESPISE going to the dentist. well, it seems i might have an issue with one of my teeth (doh). despite my diligent care, my teeth are starting to suck. so tomorrow, i’ll be going to the dentist for the first time in six years and i can’t WAIT to find out what horrors await me and my wallet for the next few months. wish me luck.
dead animals are ruining my commute
i have a really nice commute to work. it’s a leisurely drive down alameda to 4th street, which turns into roy ave and then to tramway, which is where i work. the drive takes me through the north valley of albuquerque, across the river and then through los ranchos de albuquerque, and then to sandia pueblo. every single day (i mean EVERY day) i see some sort of dead animal on the side of the road. i love animals and it breaks my heart to see dead things all the time. i haven’t gone a single day since i started working @ sandia without seeing some sort of dead creature splayed out after being hit by a car. what troubles me the most, i think, is that lots of the animals end up on the shoulder or totally off the road after being hit and yet somehow continue to be run over by sick bastards who feel like they have to disrespect the poor creatures more by running them over again and again. it’s gross and it makes me sad.
balloons.
cadie and i ended our “vacation” on thursday and i went back to work. work is as boring as being at home. boo to that.
also, i didn’t realize that it was already the first week of october and that the balloon fiesta would be starting. this is awesome because the balloon fiesta is tits, but it also sucks because i work like.. a half mile from the balloon park. there are “NO PARKING” signs all the way up roy from 2nd st to the casino, but that’s not gonna stop people from parking and/or driving around to watch balloons. since i work nights, the mass ascention in the morning isn’t a big deal but the crowds that the balloon glows/special shapes rodeos draw are problematic. so i’m going to head into work early each night that there’s some late event so i dont have to spend an hour+ in my car trying to get to work (typically a 12 minute drive).
